Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use Houzie, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use.
Our aim
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We haven't had the site independently audited yet, so we can't claim full compliance. This statement explains what we've done and what we know needs work.
What we've done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, and a "Skip to content" link appears first
- Headings are in a logical order, so screen readers can move around each page easily
- Images have text descriptions, and our area maps are described in words on the page as well
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors are explained in words, not just colour
- Text resizes with your browser settings, and pages work on small screens without sideways scrolling
- Focus outlines show where you are when using a keyboard
Known issues
- Some light grey text on pale backgrounds may not meet the recommended contrast level. We're reviewing it.
- Business logos and photos are uploaded by the businesses themselves, and some may have generic descriptions.
